Spain 0-2 USA

I am obviously gutted by this loss but there is no way you can deny the fact that Spain should have seen it coming since kick-off. Why Del Bosque chose to play all three of his passing maestros with a clearly-ineffective Riera on the wing to feed Villa and Torres is just baffling. It's like fixing three brains into a decapitated head, held on by a piece of sinew. COME ON MAN! All three of them weren't born with the gift of throwing in one decent tackle after the next. They PASS, PASS, PASS AND PASSS. Spain lacked a Senna, a Mascherano and boy, did it cost them. Furthermore, Riera's futile attempts of providing the crosses to a tightly-marked Torres dragged on for way too long. As the game approached half-time, you could see that the Spain players were upset with each other.

The Americans tower in height and La Furia Roja my foot- the team in white were the ones filled to the rim with fury! Their defence was strong, they were willing to throw in the tackles and they executed their counter attacks well which obviously, contributed to the 2-0 score line. WHERE'S THE SPIRIT YO?!

After all that Spain has achieved, I am sad to say that this isn't the best way to bow out but I remain a hopeful supporter. I am proud of the records they have broken and everything else they've picked up in the process. All the best, La Furia Roja.
