Suki, Loong and I went back to Hartamas today. Greeted our ex-teachers and also met up with Jing. The school looks very chaotic but the staff are trying their very best to keep everything under control. Please, please, please respect your teachers, kids! If you can't stand them now, you won't be able to survive college.

Bit of good news- I am fully recovered though I'm still taking some meds. Almost there!

After months of speculation, reports state that Xabi Alonso has finally taken a move to force the issue by handing in a formal transfer request. He will be leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid in the region of £30million.

Bear in mind that this upcoming post is pretty partial to the man himself but say if I were wrong and he's a real git- here's to hoping that his ignorance of the accumulative efforts and pleas from the fans will take its toll on him. Karma, baby! Now- let's speculate what could have driven him away from England, shall we?

The Barry Saga- Rafa has made his intentions to sign Gareth Barry (an overpriced English player) very clear. The midfield could use some strengthening and signing a leader of his capabilities seem like a wise decision at the time. The trouble is that as much as Barry has stated that he'd love to join Liverpool- we couldn't afford him. Martin O'Neill was being a real prick by jacking up the asking price for the midfielder. A whole saga brewed up when the Liverpool owners were not able to shell out the money to strengthen the team and Rafa found himself in an undesirable position where he has to sell to buy players. And clearly, Xabi Alonso is the best asset we've got. On the other side of Manchester, the Citizens were splashing cash all over the world like no one's business. Gareth Barry made a surprising move and pretty much ate all his talk of playing Champions League football by signing for Manchester City instead- at a much lower price compared to the one offered to Liverpool. Rafa lost and all hell broke loose. In his attempts to sign that wanker, he has pretty much whored out Xabi Alonso to the max (alright, im sure it was the media's fault) and kudos to Xabi, the man handled it very, very well. He is a professional player with professional ethics. Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time before he is forced to break the silence.

The Real Madrid Revolution 2.0- It's the Galacticos all over again. Florentino Perez has once again been elected as President of the club and the silly man has opted for shameless self-glamour for Real Madrid by splurging insane money for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Ribery. £80mil for Cristiano Ronaldo was a price that surpassed Zidane's world record asking price with a good £33mil. With that in mind- he is STILL trying to lower down the asking price of Xabi Alonso to less than £30million. The irony! The man has never kept secret of his desire to lure Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid. Apparently, unless you are a fierce rival of the club, many Spanish players dream of playing at the Bernabeu. With the crop of players being injected to the club- it is pretty much irresistible. Bear in mind too that the ability to come out with such big amounts of money and the support from the massive fanbase keeps the club in a financial position much more secured than any other in England.

Which leads us to the final factor, Family, Finance and well, Logic- He is Spanish (okay alright, Basque to be exact) after all. He's now started a family and just got married and all that jazz. Take all that into account and the fact that Real Madrid has relentlessly staked out for him- can you see why? Somewhere back in June, Alonso has spoken out against Gordon Brown's economic policies. It has taken its toll in English football and many players desire to escape the weak pound and incoming 50% tax rate. He first signed a five-year contract for Liverpool worth an estimated £65,000 a week. At the time there was €1.48 to the pound so he was on €96,200 per week but due to the weakness of the pound that has fallen to €76,700 a week. When the 50% tax rate comes in next April that will drop to €69,000 a week, so he could be losing €27,200 every week compared to what he was earning back in 2007. In other words, he could possibly be losing nearly £1.2mil per year.

Personally, I think Liverpool is lucky that Rafa has pledged his future to the club. Judging from his time in Valencia- one would expect that the American owners' lack of intelligence would have driven him away from the club first, followed by the once popular rumor of mass exodus of Spanish players. Arbeloa, who promised to stick by his side has JUST been sold to Real Madrid- now, Alonso follows. Alonso, the man who has embraced the English culture and encourage his compatriots to do the same ever since he first step foot in the country. He's leaving before the grumpy Mascherano? Huh?!

In conclusion, there's definitely no club bigger than Liverpool, but there's certainly a club out there which has a management board much more efficient than ours. He didn't deserve to go through the shite the club has put him through and in his defense, he has held up his own pretty well without lashing out at the club like certain low-class individuals (Agger for instance). He has never stated that Liverpool isn't good enough for him and he has served the club very well. His contributions have won us the Champions League and his brilliant form has landed us THISCLOSE to the dream title. Last but no least, his move to Real Madrid also brings us a good £20mil profit from when we first bought him off Real Sociedad.

Thank you and good luck, Xabi Alonso. :) It was nice watching you play throughout the years and definitely a pleasure seeing you in person last week.

You know what's funny? After a good year's worth of drama- we lost both Barry AND Alonso! When will the yanks EVER leave?!

Actually, I am too darn tired to update. The trip was awesome and well, it's in my nature that excitement peaks really, really fast so yeah.

Despite our efforts in staking out the hotel and all, I only had fond memories of Kuyt, the new friends I made and my dearest companions Sha and Myra. It was all good and it's all over.

Time to sleep lol.

The trip was brilliant and I'll do the detailed updates later. Got a very sweet story to share with y'all right now.

Sha couldn't wait for the players with us at the hotel because she wasn't feeling well. It kept bugging me cause I felt like the trip could have been better for her. She worked for it and come on laaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

She was really annoyed by some of the crowd after the game and so, she walked off to a nearby bus stand alone. She gave the most dispirited wave ever as the team bus passed by. Surprise, surprise, Xabi waved back and gave her the most sincere smile ever. Isn't that awesome?

Liverpool fans never lose out. That's why I love the club so much.

:)

Not good, not good.

I am having another one of those post-dance competition fevers. Argh! Churning down bottles of water to get rid of the sore throat and rising heat.

2 more days, just TWO more days!!

What's with the phones? LOL.

Boat shoes in white from the shoplifters. What a gorgeous pair of kicks!!!!

Don't worry la Ducky/Sha- it's for men. Cannot beli. HAHAHAHAHA.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

I may have recovered but Sha seems to have caught the bug. Poor thing.

Was over at Suki's with my dolphin. Reason for being there? To nap. I am serious. Besties who don't see each other for the past year do things like that alright?!!! THEN, we catch up by having dinner at the mamak stall nearby.

In return for lending me her new pair of Capezio dance sneakers, I promised to help break them in. They are rock-hard! Gosh.

They are the right size, fortunately. If I can manage to adjust myself to them, I might wear them for the dance comp in the weekend. If not- too bad lah, gotta return them to their rightful owner :)

KLSwing! in the press. That's me, Jordan, Jade and Sean. I think this shot was taken by KLUE quite some time ago.. during Matt Bedell's visit?

Gosh I look silly! Hahahah!

Sleeping early gives me a fever. Say what?

I managed to wake Joe up before plopping back to sleep due to headache. Khareeza then rang me up and OMGIOVERSLEPTAGAIN?! Got up and then rushed off to Taman Seputeh to pick her up and head for lunch with Joe and Jason at that Old Town White Coffee place in Third Mile Square. Never been there and the parking is one buck an hour! WHAT?! I had a pleasant time albeit the constant thumping in my head.

Hung out a bit at Khareeza's and finished my cupcake dispatching duties before driving to SMASH for the 5pm dance practice session. Danced in semi-full costume and am glad that my boobs didn't fall out of that halter suit. YAY!!! Now I can look purdy sleek. ^^ Miss B pointed out a couple more details and then handed me an ultimatum: to send her an SMS that I've reached the finals.

PRESSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE!!!!!

So yeah, it's nearly 2am now. Gotta sleep. Nite.

I bake when I am stressed. That's all you need to know :)

=P~

Good news though, Suki's on her way home from the UK. I can't wait!! ^^

So much for my promise to not bawl my eyes out for the rest of the year.

Fuck expectations. Why am I even having expectations?!

...anyway waiting for the new bruise to settle down. It's got no shape just yet. Le sigh.

Baller babies and weddings everywhere but no occasion's as big as this!!!

As mentioned last week, Xabi & Nagore will tie the knot and here are some gorgeous pics of the happy couple for those curious enough. Combination of a white tie and the simplest wedding dress ever.

Surprise, surprise, the shock factor is at the tail of the dress.

The happy family. K la maybe not Jon, he's giving the same weary bitcheyes as his dad.

>

...and my favourite pic. The five-foot-seven-football-heaven, Luis Garcia!!!

Nagore caused unrest between Alonso and Rafa Benitez in the 2007/08 campaign, when she selfishly decided to give birth to their son Jontxu during a Champions League campaign, causing Alonso to miss a crucial tie with Inter Milan.- The Spoiler

WHAT?! Selfish? What tosh! The girl can have her baby any time yo!

New dancesneakers!

... actually they feel more like jazz slippers but so be it. They are comfy to dance in and I can feel the floor!!

Thanks Sze and I-Vee for bringing me out!! ^^

Awwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

'The Kid' is now in charge of another being's (namely baby Nora) life. Wow. Oh wait, he has more fortune than freckles on his face! He'll be fine!

Plopped myself onto the bed after practice with a massive headache today. Tried to sleep it off but it didn't work so I agreed to go bowling-turn-movie-turn-karaoke- turn- shakes and fries at Carls Jr- turn- speeding in a cool ass car with Tasha in the evening. Who knew I'd come home with a fever instead??

There was one incident that really amused me today. I was holding onto my phone as we descended to the lower floor via the escalator. Ducky made some gesture with her hands, hit me and WHACK- there goes my phone! All I remember was the airborne phone headed for the space in between the couple in front of me till it flew out of sight went gadonk gadonk gadonk gadonk gadonk down the escalator. Surprisingly, I wasn't panicking (Poor ducky was!) because I was curious to know how this would end. when the sounds of the tumbling phone ended.. some decent-looking chap picked it up and passed it back up the escalator. How sweet, complete strangers just helping out by passing the unfortunate phone to the person behind them while smiling.

K anyway, time to rest. F*ck the powerpoint presentation.

Smile
tho'
your heart is aching,
Smile
Even though it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky- You'll get by,
If you
Smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through- For you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness,
Altho' a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile- What's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

They don't understand what you're trying to make them understand.

You don't understand what they are trying to make you understand either.

But sometimes, we both do.

This is a path for those who are willing to dwell in the shades of gray. Constant complaints, constant fights, constant arguments over the most subjective of matters... it's a sick yet wonderful world.

Just got back from class. Not too bad. I managed to endure 2 hours of the old man's advertising bullshit."You are all graphic designers". Mind the 'you', not 'we'. how exemplary! Noting my foul mood, he asked- "What can I do to help you?"

Leaving the class would be a great start, thank you.

I find it much easier to not retaliate by keeping quiet and just blocking all thoughts about what did I do to deserve this. Blaming anyone won't get me anywhere and I don't think I have the energy to care anymore. It really works. Now I am gonna thrash it all by going to sleep.

Oyyy just staring at my saving account makes me go apeshits. Gonna hunt down every competition entry form available in the college tomorrow (I WILL force myself to go) and try to win back some money.

That aside, I just got back from practice. Must remember to stop slapping the floor during the cha and improve the footwork before adding in the hands. @_@ Yerr. As for "Let's Dance"- FOCUS! FOCUS! FOCUS!!!! Apparently I looked so confident during the first wall Miss B purposely pulled Tracy over to distract me...... and they succeeded when Miss B stepped right in front of me. AAARGH heartbreak!! WORK HARDER WORK HARDER!!!

Oh yeah, the 'Psycho' song aka mum's special ring tone didn't come on. How weird! I actually got home to find that everyone's too tired to care. Very refreshing lol.

Anyways, I've calmed down. Aside from a couple more stress zits and an aching stomach on top of my severely scratched face.. I am all set and ready to play a blind eye in college tomorrow! So let's talk about baby Izzy. He is so friggin' adorable lah. I am sorry I dropped the bracelet on your face though. Poor kiddo. He has the cutest pout and the biggest eyes ever! You just want to pucker up as well!! He's gonna be awesome when he grows up. Le sigh :X

PS, my extremely observant eye landed on a piece of register with AMI/ENGLISH written on the top corner. I enquired to find that Miss Ami is teaching in PJCAD starting from tomorrow. I hope those non-english speakers can handle the Chekovs and the Ovids. Rawr! I miss her!

Fuck it la I don't know how to blog about this properly... but I'll try anyway.

My day started off pretty well. I fell asleep watching Pride&Prejudice, woke up at 9 thanks to Shasha's call and got ready for college. Got our schedules to find that we have a new lecturer- C. I suspected that it had something to do with the conflicts that arose a couple of times during V's classes. But anyway, refreshed knowing that the class might actually have a better lecturer this semester, we left for Fye's home. (Won't pollute the story about Izz in this rant post so I'll talk about it later)

Two hours later, on the way out from One Utama, Sha realised that C might actually be that old man which I really despised. I wanted an immediate clarification so we headed for PJCAD. Upon confirmation from another lecturer (whom I sincerely apologise for the sudden outbreak) I was upset to hear that it is indeed true.

I am beyond pissed right now. I have compiled nothing, I repeat- NOTHING, from the 6 months he taught us in class so to have him help tie up the ends of my final project does not bode well for me. The logical solution- mostly for the sake of the class, is me having to make do with this. Give it two weeks for who knows, he could be good and even if he's crap, get on with it. I don't know man, sacrificing my potential future for a bunch of delinquents who are content with whatever given to them?

This is bullshite.

Tracy's masterpiece. Apparently she hasn't done 600 roses just yet so this ain't perfect but who cares?! It's beautiful!

Just got back from dance practice. Was supposed to go take pictures of the futsal team but Chris wasn't feeling well so there goes my transport to Subang. Stayed back for the practice instead. I think I ate too much and the quiche really filled me up quick. Felt too tired and nauseous to practice the individual dances. Realised that I've been doing some of the cha steps wrongly... no wonder.... Ugh.

Have to return to the dreaded brainstorming/build-up sessions again. More bullshite to be reviewed next week in college. I think I am just gonna stay home and complete everything in front of the mac. Finalise whatever that shiteous lecturer wants and the rest of the MyRAWK stuff. R-E-S-T and just let my fingers click away tomorrow. Work harder on Tuesday!!!

............. gosh I suck.

Had an extremely hearty meal at The Ship! Great fun, great company and great food (well, an exception for that weird honeydew dessert) to celebrate Sze's birthday!!!

Happy Early Birthday, Sze!! ^^

Here's Howard McGillin's take on "Johanna".

It's all about the serious vocal chops yo. Funny though he covered it in that style cause I've heard him sing songs in higher keys. Not that I don't like it but I prefer Jamie Campbell Bower's cover. It was much, much sweeter.. and creepier.. and stalkerific. If Howard were singing at her door.. it'd require shit loads of rain and thunder to make up for his intensity lol.

They are tying the knot!!!

Finally!!!

Thursday, July 2, 2009

How sweet...

Okie, I give up.

Turns out that you're better than most of the dolts I know.

I really, really, really appreciate you now.

Sigh.

Saya fasih dalam Bahasa Melayu.

:D

Man I am tired! How do they wake up for dance class on a Thursday morning?! @_@

Went for a movie after that. Ice Age 3 was pretty damn awesome. It's hilarious!!! Go catch it if you're in need of a good laugh :) I actually enjoyed it much more than Transformers 2.

Weather's currently so hot even though it's almost 7pm. Screw bras. I don't bloody care about the support. I'm getting me more outfits that don't require one.

Brilliant, in a sick sense.
