I asked Alex another question based on something once Uncle Alex told me... only that he took it literally. (or perhaps, FIGURE-tively) Gee!
I was once told that God only gives a person a certain percentage of talent- say 40%, and the remaining 60% is achieved only through hard work and strive. My question is how did you first find out that you had a very good voice and did your trademark singing come naturally or did it take a lot of experimenting and practice.
Alex -Hey Peiru:) I've never heard this idea that God only gives you 40% talent....but I guess it does make sense. There is a huge amount of work and practice that goes in to succeeding with your art. I was very lucky and knew what I wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I've been singing since I could first start talking. My singing definitely wasn't very good when I was so young, but it got better as I got older. And once my voice changed at age 14, I really started to come into my own. I was heavily influenced by music and singers I listened to while I grew up and all I did was write songs and sing everyday. I didn't try to sound like anything or anyone, it just came naturally...so maybe that's the 40% I was given;) I didn't purposely practice or force myself, I just loved doing what I was doing...and slowly but surely people around me like my family and friends started to take notice and actually like what I was doing and supported me to the fullest. This gave me the confidence I needed, and everything since then you pretty much probably know about! Anyway, thank you for the questions and hopefully I'll make it to Kuala Lumpur one day on tour! I've only been there while stopping for gas in a plane! All the love...
Thanks Debbie!! ^^
Anyways, here's one of my favourite videos from Alex's band- The Calling.

The 5-feet tall tapir has wandered off again. With a liverbird on her back, she left behind that hot french boyfriend of hers for a layout still undecided.
